Focus on the step in front of you, not the whole staircase.

As I begin 2025, I feel as if I am at the precipice of all things new. Like many others, I have so many milestones ahead of me this year which can be both daunting and incredibly exciting. My feelings about this seem all consuming at times and a bit overwhelming. I begin to wonder how I can accomplish all I want to and make the most of every opportunity that 2025 has in store?

Each year, as the clock strikes midnight, I have created a laundry list of new leaves I must turn over in the new year to be the best I can be. However, this often felt limiting and slightly negative which led me to abandon my resolutions by mid-January. This year, I said no more! Rather than a STOP DOING mindset, I wanted to focus on a START DOING plan of action. This included small but concrete goals that are achievable and measurable. So, I created a vision board—just like Delia! I carefully placed images of positive mantras I could repeat to myself, images of people and things that inspire me, and fun activities to check off the list to bring joy back to my every day. Seeing these images on my board reminds me of the things that are important to me and keeps me focused on working towards these goals even in small ways. We all know that mental images are important to keep ourselves in check but there is a certain power to a vision board.

I have also purchased a planner to organize my school and social events, schedule time for exercise and sleep to prioritize my mental and physical health, and reserve time for my family. I have also learned scheduling a little down time is very important and makes us more efficient in the long run.

Making my vision board with a little inspiration from Delia was the push I needed to start the year off right!

Remember……When you visualize, then you materialize.

One month down friends! How can YOU make the most of the rest of 2025?
